Our Library Director, Christeen Snell, was a hit on the run-way at a recent event at the Fayette Senior Services Center where she is a member of the Board of Directors.

The Library Expansion is Complete!
NOTICE! Friends Book Sales Are Back
During our library expansion, the Spring & Fall Book Sales were canceled and we set-up our mini sales inside the library.
There are two tables just inside main library next to the printer. Books are priced from $0.25 to $5.00 and payment is on the honor system using a locked box. There are no provisions for making change, so please bring coins and small bills. We hope to be able to do this with a minimal disruption of normal library business, so the library staff will not be able to help you with change or information regarding the sale tables. Please stop and shop with us when you're in the library.
Our Mini-Sales are a hit! Thanks for supporting this effort and helping us continue to raise funds for our library.

We need books, lots of books for the next sale.
BRING US YOUR NEW AND GENTLY USED BOOKS
We are already regrouping, restocking, recounting and realizing that when we resume our book sales we will need to have a large inventory on hand. Please bring your donations to the library so that we can get them sorted and priced. Our used book sales are our main fund raisers and we depend on your book and media donations to make the sales successful. Please e-mail us at friendsfcpl@yahoo.com , leave a note with your name and contact information for Sig or Elizabeth in the library regarding large donations, if you want to volunteer or if you have any questions.
We always appreciate your donations of Good, Clean, Saleable* Books.
* SALEABLE; PROFITABLE, COMMERCIAL, MARKETABLE, VIABLE, MONEY-MAKING and PROFIT-MAKING
So, while we very much appreciate your donations, we ask that you please insure that they meet the definitions of Saleable. Books brought to the library are accepted for us by the library staff who do not have the time to check them and advise whether or not the donations are usable. We ask that you please sort through your donations before bringing them to the library and cull out books that are smelly, dirty, too worn or otherwise not in a saleable condition and take those books to a local recycler. We need used books for our sales but only those books that you or someone else would be willing to buy.

We Need Your Help.
"If we had a Friends book store, we could shop every week and would not have to wait for the next sale."
Many Friends groups operate a book store staffed by volunteers where books are sold weekly or several days a week. Since we are a non-profit and do not have the funds to lease a space or building for a store, we need someone to donate space, rent-free or for a nominal fee. If you know someone with retail space standing vacant or if you have the expertise to help us obtain such space, email or write us. We'd love to hear from you.
NOTE TO OUR BOOK DEALERS
I appreciate your attendance at our book sales and your contributions toward our goal of raising money for the library. Comments after our last members’ sale on Friday have caused me to set some rules so both dealers and individual members can enjoy and have an opportunity to buy books in all the categories. -- For dealers using scanners, please replace each book as it is scanned and make an effort to keep the tables neat --For volume dealers, there is now a five box limit before you have to check out. This will help eliminate stacks of boxes that clog our cash register areas and make it difficult for customers with small purchases -- Again, for volume dealers, I invite you to come to our Saturday sale between 3:00 and 4:00 PM where there will be no restrictions on the number of boxes of books purchased and nearly all of the books are half price.
