FCPL Children's Librarian
The following taken from www.adastories.com
Ada Moreau Demlow is a professional librarian and storyteller who has been telling stories to children for more than 20 years. She earned her master's in library science in 1990 and spent 6 years in public libraries where she conducted storytime programs for groups of all ages and sizes - from small groups of toddlers to large assemblies with 300-500 elementary-aged kids.
Ada found her way into United Methodist church ministry in 1996 when she became the nursery director at her church. From there she became an active volunteer in children's programs eventually becoming the full-time director of children's ministries. Stories and music were cornerstones of Ada's work within the church. During her tenure at Due West UMC, she implemented a Sunday School program that was both story-focused and multidimensional. In 2004 she left full-time children's ministry work and her family moved from their home in Kennesaw, GA to their new home in Newnan, GA. There she worked for three years in the publishing industry before setting out on her adventure to "Inspire Empathy" through sharing books, stories and resources about the Golden Rule. She is currently working full time as a children's librarian and sharing her stories in churches on a part-time basis.
Storytelling was the thread that connected Ada's work in libraries and churches, so it is with great joy that she now makes sharing stories a part her life's work. Her stories are full of interaction and music, her style is engaging and enthusiastic, and her passion is to make the world a kinder place through the magic of story.
